I know he's hyped out of this world, but....

Two observations from these videos and others;
- Is he using wood? I know its just JuCo talent he's playing against but using wood against guys 3-4 years older is still pretty impressive.
- The triple; he's freaking FAST. That was a double to the gap that he pretty effortlessly turned into a triple. I couldn't believe how far around first he was by the time the ball reached the fence.

I think the whole team uses wood bats.

I'm not sure why they do, but I'm pretty certain that they do. In an early video posted on the site here Harper talks about how he loves using wood bats and how that affected his decision to go to CSV.

And yes, he is really really fast. In the Sports Illustrated article it said he stole home from second base 10 times his sophomore season. While that may seem ridiculous, you have to remember that past balls happen a lot more often in high school and when a ball slips past a catcher when you're already stealing third...it's not THAT hard.

Thanks for the comment.
