Finally, A New Commenting System For The Nats Blog

Hey everyone. This is a big day for The Nats Blog as we’ve finally moved on from the old commenting system that has given people so much trouble in the past. I want to apologize for the problems everyone has had with it over the past year, and I truly hope it has not alienated anyone. While our new system is currently in BETA, it is pretty top of the line and pretty exciting! It is truly my hope that this new system will help cultivate a broader community here on The Nats Blog as it will be so much simpler/faster to comment.

Thank you everyone again for bearing with us for the past year, and I hope you really love the new system.

A few things you should know:

1 – Integration with their Bloguin user name and password is coming, in the mean time you will need to either register with Livefyre or sign in using Facebook or Twitter for now…but that should be no big deal.

2. – Old comments will not be lost.  They aren’t visible at the moment, but they will be imported into the new system soon.

3.  Flickr, Twitpic, tinypic, and imgur are the supported image sources, meaning you just copy and paste the URL into the comment box and the image shows up as a thumbnail.

4. For videos, YouTube and Vimeo work. Just paste the URL, and it works.

5. This is a beta version of the system, so there are still some bugs being worked on.

Thanks everyone and I hope you enjoy the new system. We’ll be doing some promotional stuff here in the next few weeks to help people get acclimated with it…in the mean time…leave a comment here and try it out!
