Former Nats Milone, Suzuki Mentioned In Deadline Day Talks

Two former Washington Nationals have been involved in trade deadline talks today. Former starting pitcher Tommy Malone, who was part of the deal that brought Gio Gonzalez to Washington from the Athletics, has been traded to the Minnesota Twins. The A’s will get Sam Fuld in return.

Former catcher and fan favorite Kurt Suzuki isn’t rumored to be traded but rather involved in extension talks with the Twins. Ken Rosenthal, as you can see below, believes that an extension could be completed soon.

Update (12:12 pm): Meanwhile, Chris Cotillo reports that an extension is, in fact, not close for Suzuki.
