Nats Celebrate Christmas

With Rhett Wiseman, RC Orlan, and Nick Rickles still in the minors, there are no Jewish Nationals at the major league level. So, while the first night of Hanukah and Christmas eve fell on the same night, setting up the potential for a cross-holiday social media spectacular, a naked baby Eaton in a Santa hat and Ryan Zimmerman juggling limes will do just fine in its place.

Bryce Harper kept Instagram inundated with family pics. He kicked things off on Christmas Eve with a shot of him and his new wife Kayla, wishing everyone happy holidays, completed with fluffy pups and menorah and Christmas tree emojis. (Kayla, by the way, has officially changed her Twitter and Instagram handles to reflect her new last name).

The next post—a picture of Kayla, Bryce, his brother Bryan, and their sister’s kids playing with Hot Wheels—came on Christmas day.

“Hot wheels leading the wayyyyy” This is what it’s all about! Love my family so much..I loved playing with @hotwheelsofficial when I was younger, now I get to play it with my niece and nephew! Still a kid at heart🎄#MerryChristmas

Also pictured: Bryan’s elbow, recovering from recent Tommy John surgery.

Bryce capped off the day by featuring his mom with an appreciative caption, again, complete with emojis.

To the best cook in the world! What a Christmas dinner that was..Thanks Mom and 👁❤️U! #MerryChristmas🎄

Eight-month-old Brayden Eaton was shown off in nothing but a Santa hat admiring a Christmas tree by New Nat Adam. Brayden is about the size of an ornament and, let me tell you, it is cute.

The White Sox ornament in the upper left is a little less cute.

On the topic of small humans, Trea Turner also posted his Christmas well-wishes to twitter and alluded to his family’s annual Amazing Race tradition.

I need a stranger in the Lake Worth area to eat a sardine with me…???? #AmazingRace #ChristmasEdition

MLB.com’s Jamal Collier published an interview with Turner that explains a little about the annual event. Turner’s mom or aunt makes a list of things for the teams to find. The family ends up “running all over the place going into restaurants and different things,” Turner said, “People think we’re crazy, but it’s actually pretty fun.”

If the Amazing Race list ever required Turner to find a lime juggler, Ryan Zimmerman should be his go-to guy. Ryan’s wife Heather poster a short clip of Ryan engaging in intricate lime juggling, complete with a rare laugh from Ryan.

The Lobatons posted photos of a family celebration of their own. The pictures include a few appearances from grumpy Little Lobi.

You know what they say, Jesus saves and the Nats are still in the market for a closer.

Most importantly of all, the holidays gave the Scherzers the gift of a family bobblehead.

Merry Christmas everyone!! ❤️🎄🐶😹
