Bryce Harper and Kayla Varner Are Engaged Again

Sequels can’t all be better than their originals, but any sequel that ends with Bryce Harper and Kayla Varner married is one worth seeing in theaters twice.

Varner, the former Ohio State soccer player, announced her re-engagement to Bryce Harper via Instagram on Thursday afternoon. Varner first posted a picture from Tuesday’s All-Star Game with her decorated ring finger within view on Wednesday evening and then shared the official engagement announcement the following day. Harper also posted a picture with both his Best MLB Player ESPY and his fiancee, adding to the charm.

ESPYS last night with my love. So proud of you, B! Oh and WERE ENGAGED… Again 💍✨ #TheSequel #AllStarBreak

Harper and Varner were first engaged to be married in January 2015 during Kayla’s senior year before they quietly (ish) scrubbed each other from their social media. As the saying goes, it’s better to have loved and lost and loved again than to never have adorable engagement photos from 2014.

As for an official couple name, we should just stick to Kayla and Bryce, as mushing their names together fails to create anything appealing. Trust me, I’ve tried.

How long ago was it when Harper was 19, throwing off his helmet as he headed for second at Dodger Stadium? They grow up so fast.
