Bryce (Finally) Ties the Knot

Bryce Harper and Kayla Varner tied the knot this Friday in La Jolla, San Diego. As any good wedding does, it had rain, photo booths, and Nationals players in tuxedos.

Bryce and Kaylas wedding was full of pretty rain, gut-busting-nose-crinkling laughs, and lots of happy tears. So dang happy for these two! @bharper3407 @kayyvarner

As far as is reported, Trea Turner did not jump up at “speak now or forever hold your peace,” probably because he is saving himself for Anthony Rendon.

Jayson Werth, who apparently only got a no-trade clause if he promised to never smile for anyone except Dan Kolko, was a groomsman, along with former teammate and current Rockies first baseman Ian Desmond. They both rocked their tuxes, an apparent homage to Ken Rosenthal. You can almost hear Desi quelling Harper’s pre-wedding jitters with a “Big Kid, it don’t matter.”

Talk about a great weekend!! Such an amazing time celebrating #TheSequel!! Congrats to @bharper3407 and @kayyvarner!!

The wedding hashtag #TheSequel was picked as an amusing reference to their first engagement in 2014, which gave us these adorable engagement photos taken at Nationals Park to go with the new ones.

The hashtag has made it easy to find some very important photo booth pictures, including one of the couple throwing up Bryce’s iconic “I love you” sign that he flashes toward Kayla in the family section after every home run.

Congratulations Kayla and Bryce! Love you both and have a long and happy marriage🎂🍾🎉

Just scroll back up to look at Desmond in proximity to Werth wearing matching outfits one more time before you go.
