Bryce Blasts Walkoff Bomb

Sunday, Gio Gonzalez went seven and 1/3 innings to give the Nationals a 3-1 lead before the bullpen worked on the knowledge that Bryce Harper can’t hit a walk-off bomb if they don’t blow a lead first.

Bryce, powered by an Easter egg hunt Kayla Harper forced him to participate in Sunday morning, worked an 0-2 count to 3-2 in the ninth inning before sending a Joaquin Benoit heater 424 feet to the berm in dead center.

Bryce clicked his red ruby cleats into his elated teammates gathered at home plate, because there really is no place like home. The resulting GIF is gonna make the best mehmey. (It isn’t the first time Bryce rivaled Dorothy and the Easter Bunny at the same time, either).

Right off the bat it was a no doubter. Benoit knew it was out before it even got over his head, making a bee line for the dugout. The only person who wouldn’t think the shot landed on the moon is probably Curtis Granderson.

I’ve never been so sure a ball was a home run in my life. The echo from contact in the park was devastatingly loud.

Of course, Bryce did it all perfectly coiffed.
