The Nats Go Tweeting

At the finish line of the race for the first team to 20 wins, Nationals pitchers had quite a wild Friday night, and none of it involved beer or cocaine. I’m looking at you, David Wells. Stephen Strasburg hit the first Nationals starting pitcher home run since 2014, and Matt Albers, everyone’s one true kid brother, recorded his first save after closing out 102 games without one. Injuries weren’t going to keep Sammy Solis and Adam Eaton from being a part of it.

Eaton live-tweeted the whole game and will hopefully continue to whenever he isn’t with the Nationals. He encouraged taco consumption, admired his teammates’ homers, and questioned their true whereabouts.

Strasburg went golfing:

And Eaton tweeted this:

Strasburg..taters. #Natitude #AAAAABombbbbb

— Adam Eaton (@AdamSpankyEaton) May 5, 2017

Ryan Zimmerman and Anthony Rendon went back to back, which is the baseball player equivalent of millennials going to brunch together. Find Rendon’s homer here, and find Zimmerman’s here:

Eaton had a lot to say. One of us! One of us!

h..o..llyyyy zimmm.. #oppotaco #dadstrength

Waittttt a second..Tony!! #oppotaco #theolebacktoback

— Adam Eaton (@AdamSpankyEaton) May 6, 2017

Not sure what planet Zim/Tony are on, but I’m diggin it..

— Adam Eaton (@AdamSpankyEaton) May 6, 2017

When Albers recorded the save, Eaton was thrilled, but fellow reliever Solis stepped into the Tweet party, too.

Atta baby Matty!  #NatsWin

— Adam Eaton (@AdamSpankyEaton) May 6, 2017

#Albers4President

— Sammy Solis (@Sammy22Solis) May 6, 2017

If Albers is going to be the president, his first official act should be to find out what planet Rendon and Zimmerman are on, make sure they’re happy, and then leave them there. His second should be to require the rest of the Nats to be this active on social media.
